I see there is a trip planned to Wiley's Well. What great times we had near there in the 1970's when I was growing up! Fire agates, potato agate, petrified Ironwood, petrified corals, and just some great times with our families in the middle of nowhere! Back then it was the Akers, Beavers, Mosiers, and so many others organizing the excursions each day. I learned so much that was a benefit when I took my geology courses at VC, Cal Lu and UCSB. I hope you guys have a wonderful time and grow in knowledge and experience. I'd like to encourage everyone to attend! Wish I could be there but here in Florida we have some cool agates, and I dive for Meglodon teeth occasionally...got some wonderful specimens, lots of fossil Manatee bone as well as Rhino, Mammoth, and whales teeth. Blessings to you all! Dave Castle
